D’Souza sounds off on NYC’s ‘culturally responsive’ education

ALREADY THROW IN NEW YORK CITY. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. ALSO TONIGHT AS PRESIDENT TRUMP HAMMERS THE FAILED LIBERAL POLICIES THAT WRECKED BALTIMORE SOME DEMOCRATS ARE PUSHING POLICIES THAT TREAT SCHOOL KIDS LIKE SOCIAL JUSTICE LAB RATS. INSIDE NEW YORK CITY OFFICIALS APPROVED A NEW CULTURE’S RESPONSIVE EDUCATION POLICY THAT REQUIRES SCHOOLS TO STOP THE PRACTICES THAT LEAD TO OUTCOMES FOR MARGINALIZED STUDENTS. HERE TO MAKE SENSE OF ALL OF THIS IS A CONSERVATIVE, AUTHOR AND FILM MAKER. WHEN YOU DIG DOWN ABOUT WHAT CULTURE CULTUYE CULTUY RESPONSIVE EDUCATION MEANS IT’S BEEN CONFUSING STUDENTS AND KEEPING THEM STUCK FOR DECADES OUT.>>YES. IT’S NOT EDUCATION AT ALL. IT’S THE POLITICS OF VICTIMOLOGY. THE IDEA IS TO RECONCILE MINORITY STUDENTS TO THEIR POOR PERFORMANCE. INSTEAD OF TRYING TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE TO LOCATE A PERSON TO BLAME FOR IT, NAMELY THE SYSTEM OR THE WHITE MAN. THIS IS A RECIPE FOR — IT’S NOT A RECIPE FOR CREATING EDUCATING STUDENTS OR PREPARING YOU TO BALANCE A CHECKBOOK OR START A BUSINESS. IT MIGHT BE A RECIPE IF YOU WANT TO WORK FOR ANTIFA OR BLACK LIVES MATTER. IT LIMITS YOUR OCCUPATIONAL CHOICES TO THOSE TWO CATEGORIES.>>Laura: HE’S THE PROFICIENCY CHART FOR NEW YORK CITY. CHECK IT OUT. MATH. 26% ARE AT OR ABOVE PROFICIENT. SCIENCE? GRADE 4 ONLY 18%. I WANT TO GO BACK TO CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE. THIS REMIND ME OF THE ’80s WHICH THE CONCEPT TRICKLED BACK IN THERE. IT SAID STUDENTS PERSPECTIVE SHOULD BE SEEN AS ESSENTIAL ASSETS AND REQUIRES SCHOOLS TO FOSTER CRITICAL CONSCIOUSNESS ABOUT FORMS OF BIAS AND SUPPRESSION. CHINESE STUDENTS PROTESTED AT A MEETING. WE DON’T GET TRANSLATORS. WHY DO SPANISH KIDS GET THEM? EVERYBODY IS AT EACH OTHER’S THROAT NOW.>>YES, THE NEW YORK PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE THE MOST DIVERSE IN THE WORLD. YOU DON’T HAVE TO TEACH THE KIDS ABOUT DIVERSITY. THEY ARE DIVERSE. THIS IS LIKE TEACHING ME ABOUT BEING INDIAN. YOU DON’T NEED TO DID THAT. THE BROADER MEANING IS STARTLING. TRUMP ATTACKS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY RUN CITIES AS BEING CRIME AND DRUG INFESTED AND RAT INVESTED. I THINK HE UNDER-STATED THE CASE. IF I WAS A POOR KID IN THE SLUM, I WOULD RATHER BE IN A SLUM IN BRAZIL THAN IN BALTIMORE OR NEW YORK CITY. WHY IS THAT? BECAUSE EVEN IN MUMBAI, I GET A GOOD EDUCATION. IF YOU TRANSPLANT ME OUT OF POVERTY AND PUT ME IN A PLACE I HAVE OPPORTUNITY I CAN THRIVE. THE PROBLEM FOR THE POOR KIDS IN BALTIMORE AND NEW YORK THEY ARE NOT PREPARED WITH THE BASIC SKILLS FOR LIFE. EVEN IF OPPORTUNITY COMES THEIR WAY, THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT. THEY DON’T HAVE THE ABILITY TO PERFORM AT JOBS THEY ARE NOT EDUCATED FOR. THIS IS A DISASTER IN THE MAKING.>>Laura: WE ARE TEACHING THEM TO AGITATORS OR PROTESTORS, BUT WE ARE NOT GIVING THEM THE SKILLS IN SCIENCE, MATH OR WRITING TO MAKE THEM MORE PRODUCTIVE. THE PRESIDENT GOT A LOT OF HEAT BECAUSE THERE WAS A TWEET HE SENT OUT ABOUT CUMMINGS AND THE ROBBERY OF HIS HOME. TODAY HE SAID THAT WAS NOT A WISE CRACK. I REPORTED WHAT ON THE NEWS. THE MEDIA HOPPED ON THAT AND HE SAID I WAS JUST REPEATING WHAT EVERYONE ELSE SAID. THEY ARE NOT LETTING THIS CUMMINGS THING GO.>>THERE IS A BROADER POINT HERE. USUALLY THESE POLITICIANS CAN PURSUE THESE POLICIES THAT MAKE LIFE MISERABLE FOR OTHER PEOPLE AND MAKE THESE NEIGHBORHOOD EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THEY THEMSELVES LIVE IN GATED COMMUNITIES WHERE THEY ARE IMMUNE FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR OWN POLICY. NANCY PELOSI DIDN’T HAVE TO LIVE WITH HOMELESS PEOPLE AT HER DOOR IN SAN FRANCISCO AND NEITHER WOULD CUMMINGS. THIS IS AN INTERESTING CASE

  1. Basically paint your face brown and get everything handled to you in America and unlimited privilege!!!
    America absolute 🤡 WORLD 2019

  2. U.S. public schools preach multiculturalism and teachers mindlessly follow this Leftist, anti-American mantra. Sad.

  3. Are the so-called parents of children in New York just assholes and I mean people that should not be within a mile of a child?

  4. THIS IS BS EDUCATION…SCHOOLS TRY 2BRAINWASH MILLENIAL KIDS
TO PREPARE THEM WITH THE NEW WORLD ORDER AGENDA…
YEP ITS UNFAIR WHY WE GIVE PRIORITIES TO HISPANICS INTERPRETERS N NONE FOR THE OTHER RACES???

  5. These politicians and policy-makers know exactly what they're doing. Keep people uneducated and you keep them poor, keep them poor and you keep them dependent on the government. That's how get people to vote democrat perpetually.

  6. My first grand baby just turned 1. She’s not only not gonna go to college we gotta figure out alternative Elementry schooling.

  7. Yes, but are Reading, Writing & Arithmetic even considered Survival Skills in New York City?
Spanish & English are both needful & useful.
    Antifa is hiring!

  8. I think that California and New York and Hawaii should become their own countries and leave the rest of the contiguous and Alaska to the rest of us sane people.

  9. Hey, how does home schooling work in a trailer park???
    No one completed grade 9…..?😂😂😂
No thanks,I'll take the public school system…

  10. It all falls into the depopulation agenda.
    Poor education = no future
    LGBTQ = no kids

Our society even thinks sugar is ok. It’s nature’s poison for f* sakes! It’s acidic and feeds the bacteria to keep you sick. We think eating oranges is good when you have a cold – lol! You make yourself more sick. Eat alkaline my friends and thrive.

Stop falling for the government sponsored lies.

They have programmed us backwards so do the exact opposite of what you are “recommended” in doing/eating.

Time to wake up sheep ! Stop hitting the snooze button and wake up!

  11. No different north of the border, where last I heard 75% of stupdents & general population are functionally illiterate and the "teachers" union invests in tobacco companies and employs pedophiles to write their "curriculum" for 1st graders and advises parents online how to sexually assault their children and make them mentally deranged "transgenders"

  12. Teaching to the lowest common denominator. (Divide and conquer) This has been going on for decades. New parents are now the result of this education so they have even dumber kids because of it, so they have to lower the standards even more

  13. Why is Fox News and trump just now talking about this, republicans are just as much to blame as democrats. Look at flint, look at North/south Carolina. Fox News are a sham

  14. Democrats don't ignore failing schools in liberal cities, they purposely dumb down children to subjugate them and control the path of America's future towards socialism.

  15. Dinesh D'Souza needs to be making more videos leading up to the 2020 elections, his films change minds and open hearts! someone please ask him, and get the word out! now or never! make education great again!

  16. Baltimore needs Robin Hood apparently so citizens can get some help. God knows the Dems won't do anything but call people racist for being called out on their districts. If they don't like it maybe they should do something for the people instead of themselves.

  17. I live in RI where the capital city of RI, Providence is being taken over by the State because the Public School system is so bad. And yes the schools
Have a rat problem as well and run by you guessed it, Democrats

  18. You know why their historically marginalized because democrats keep dumbing down their educations and telling them they're not as good and can't ever do anything without the democrats holding their hands, it's all about keeping them enslaved because democrats need a victim in order to keep getting rich off of their policies.

Also and I know I'll get called a racist for this but I don't care the word has no meaning thanks to democrats anyway but …What translators ? How about learn friggin English thats the language of this country you want to be here learn to speak it FFS people

  19. Thanks Dinesh for shutting Laura down over the Cummings robbery Trump tweet. SHE believes it was uncalled for.

  20. I'm sure that Cummings' robbers knew very well who they were stealing from. It was an attention getter. Even thieves know how corrupt Cumming is. They may see themselves as Robin Hood's when it comes to stealing from him.

  21. How is this isnt the slave master of black people as how black people in cotton filed took away the rights of read and fair educations so decromats arent slave master.

  22. My son is choosing to fight the system from within. If you pull your kid out of school, there will be no one left to fight bad policy. Don't give in to bad policy. As Americans we have a responsibility to fight tyranny. That fight starts in the schools. Let your child see what he/she is fighting against. Let them stand up and say NO. Don't hide your child away. You will find many teachers are looking for students to help restore sanity. The teachers hate these policies as much as the kids do.

  23. I graduated high school in 2008 in Clark County nevada, it is liberal and not a good county but school was nothing like this when I went. We learned things, almost all graduated and were proficient. You had to pass final proficiency tests to graduate, I don't know when they started teaching this crap but it wasn't in my time.

  24. So it's ok to glorify men like Custer whose bloodlust knew no bounds when it came to the wholesale slaughter of as many Native Americans he could get his disgusting hands on? School children shouldn't learn the flip side and read about how white settlers stole their lands. Maybe you Trumptards want your children or grandchildren raised thinking white people are the superior race and that everyone else should just fall in line and bow and scrape at your feet but the rest of us feel differently.

  25. Intelligent citizens are difficult to govern. It’s just a fact. The more intelligent you are, the more likely you will know the issues and be aware when you are being fed a bunch of crap. Now ask yourself, how did education in America transform from a system that imparts knowledge to one that uses behavior modification techniques to influence the attitudes and beliefs of those passing through it? By systematically trying to create a nation that works instead of thinks, that’s how. Because the less educated they are, the easier the masses are to control. But how beneficial is that really for the progress of our country?

You see, the aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed a standard citizenry, to suppress dissent and originality. Public education does not encourage critical thinking nor does it foster imagination. It does not teach emotional intelligence. It does not encourage the pupils to work together to solve problems. It does not seek out and help nurture an individual’s innate skills and abilities. It just gives you tasks.

As Albert Einstein said, “Never confuse education with intelligence.” In his book, The Dumbest Generation, Mark Bauerlein reveals how a whole generation of youth is being dumbed down by their aversion to reading anything of substance and their addiction to digital “crap” via social media. In American schools the culture exalts the athlete and the comely cheerleader.

Conversely, overtly-intelligent and intellectual students are commonly referred to as “nerds,” “dweebs,” “dorks,” and “geeks,” and are relentlessly harassed and even assaulted by the more popular “jocks” for openly displaying any intellect.

Summarily, we are creating a world of dummies. Angry dummies, who feel they have the right, the authority, and the need not only to comment on everything, but to make sure their voice (however inane) is heard above the rest — and to drag down any opposing views through personal attacks, loud repetition, and confrontation. When you argue with an idiot, you have two idiots. Don’t agree with me? Then sit down with someone you know and watch an episode of Jeopardy. If neither of you knows the answer to anything other than the television or film questions, you’re in trouble. Now extrapolate that against an entire population of Americans who don’t know the answers either.

Take away the calculator on their phone and the newest generation of workers cannot add or subtract. Take away “spell check” on their computers and they are helpless to spell accurately. These are basic skills Americans used to learn in one-room schoolhouses heated with a wood-burning oven. They could also tell you the branches of the US government and a whole lot more than today’s graduates.

Why are they in the workforce? The truth is, America needs workers that aren’t that smart. Ask anyone responsible for the management of an organization — from a local bakery to a major corporation — what their primary problem is and they will tell you it’s finding good workers with even the most basic education or skills to perform any job with a minimum of competency.

This is the result of an education system that has been foisted on this nation and its been that way since Rockefeller and Carnegie pulled American farmers into their factories in the early 1900s. In 1902, John D. Rockefeller created the General Education Board at the ultimate cost of $129 million. The GEB provided major funding for schools across the nation and was very influential in shaping the current school system. As Rockefeller put it, “I don’t want a nation of thinkers, I want a nation of workers.” Even more compelling are the words of Frederick T Gates, business advisor to Rockefeller: “We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning or of science. We are not to raise up among them authors, orators, poets, or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians….”

It’s time for a reality check. We need to start properly educating the coming generations. Because the more educated you become, the better choices you have, period. I am certainly proof of that and I speak from personal experience. The choices I made after school were the ones that opened up my world to more possibilities. Regardless of what happens with education in this country, the intelligent will continue to survive. It is my belief that if we don’t do something, the illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but rather those who cannot unlearn and relearn. So we need to reform our public school system, encourage the latest generation to put down the smartphone and pick up a book, and turn this nation of workers back into a nation of thinkers…before it’s too late.Intelligent citizens are difficult to govern. 26. Before you can educate students you must first educate teachers and professors to keep their political Ideas to themselves and how to educate students. Students have the right to grow up and learn all about how to learn they can then learn how to judge people on their own and in time learn who to place their own vote on. They will learn ON THEIR OWN THAT IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT IS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE. Socialism sounds so great to people that do not know yet about it and it's downfalls. We in America love being free to chouse and plan our ups and downs without the big government taking our freedoms to do so. All America needs is less government and more freedom to do our own things and to make our own mistakes. Teach our students basic skills and they will excel on their own each generation getting better. We do not need teachers that try to teach students how to vote and live because then we would have socialism and we will never as great Americans want that. Our forefathers were great smart people and they set up our country under a constitution that has sustained us since " The Constitution was written during the Philadelphia Convention—now known as the Constitutional Convention—which convened from May 25 to September 17, 1787. It was signed on September 17, 1787." It has served us well and will for many more years if left alone and not weakened by political people we the people vote into office. If politicians want to get too far away from our constitution then it is time we the people voted them out and replaced them with people with integrity that love our country and our freedom. Younger people do not know but we older people remember before politicians started selling our freedoms away and making our country weaker just to make them rich. Trump has started to make America great again and respected in the world and allowed to do so will in 4 more years with the house and the senate He loves America as we do and he will continue to set us back on the course of being the great Nation we can be again.  We will have smaller government less taxation better laws and greater for all Americans. We will have a military we can be proud of again and one that is unbeatable and we will all be under God as we should be.

  27. If they keep dumbing down education, soon they'll be able to save lots of tax money by eliminating public education altogether. Which would be great!

  28. Don't take to long to critize the democrats ,because there are about another 50 cities they f up too! All talk ! Trump gave them 1.3 billion more than Obama, where did it go? Russia maybe?

  29. EDUCAR UMA PESSOA E UMA COISA REEDUCAR UMA PESSOA SO TEM UM REMEDIO PRA ISSO JESUS E O UNICO QUE PODE MOLDAR O CARATER DE UMA PESSOA.ENQUANTO ESTE PAIZ NAO COMECAR A ENSINAR ESTAS CRIANCAS PRINCIPIOS VINDOS DE DEUS.DESDE PEQUENAS ELAS NUNCA IRAM RESPEITAR OS PAIS DELAS OU UMA AUTORIDADE OU ELAS MESMAS.QUANDO VOCE TEM TEMOR A DEUS VOCES PENSA 2 VEZES ANTE DE FAZER O MAU A ALGUEM.E TUDO O QUE VEM DE DEUS E COM AMOR.

  30. The governor of Maryland is a republican. 100 of the poorest counties in America 97 of those are ran by Republican Governors and senators and Mayors and legislators 16 of America's 20th poorest states run by Republicans Governors and senators and Mayors and legislators what are you talkin about the governor responsibilities of the state.
    government 101 big dummy.
    Dummy lots of them
In those poor Republican states and counties

  31. I taught in NYC public schools for 5 years. I ultimately resigned. Politics made teaching an almost impossible job if one is morally responsible. many policies were actually counter- productive and teachers were being micro-managed to a ridiculous degree to the extent that teaching was treated as secondary to administrative work to adhere to the policies that were in vogue at the time

  32. The "educrat" party has controlled education for decades. They have given same rhetoric for educational failure for those same decades.
What they will NEVER ADMIT is you can't force kids to learn. A kid who wants to learn will learn in spite of bad teachers.
A kid who does NOT want to learn will not try if Einstein was the teacher.

  33. Kids aren’t learning the basics; math, reading, writing. Why? So many kids are trying to grow up in households with adults who are addicts or they are in foster care and or are in homes without basic cleanliness and supervision. Sorry, it’s the truth, so many kids are just trying to survive their childhood. White kids, black kids, brown kids. Trying to replace parental love, care and attention with Government does not work. Government can not make up for the lack of a functioning family. Answer? Hell if I know.

  34. Trump is against education. See how he trashes all the educated scientists and scholars that don't agree with him.

  35. Btw even Russia , China, and Cuba are doing much much better …

Our schools here are doing slightly better , but if we elect a certain party , maybe we can reach their levels as well …

  36. 'Culturally responsive education' is simply socialist/leftist indoctrination…

Why not focus just on maths, science and reading? Because it is harder to lace these subjects with their poisonous ideology…

  37. Kids need to learn how to win and fail! It is apart of the real world and life is not a safe place. Like Darwin's law, if you are weak you die!

  38. Cultural Marxism-Leninism at its best start with their minds when the children are young disgusting basically communist are winning the war of the minds and doing it by Stealth.

  39. That is the most stupid thing I ever heard. I can't believe the parents of these kids would be happy with this. We are making a generation of morons if they go through with this. Everybody gets a trophy society will never work.

  40. D'Souza is better off making birth of a Nation 2 with real racist except he's not white but its just a opinion of mine

  41. "Culturally Responsive" education means: Keep the Democrat voter base ignorant and helpless down on the Democrat Plantation.

  42. Stick that in your crack pipe and smoke it Elijah Cummings. How's that feel to get a taste of your own community? You are just like Nany Pepsi Losi, wealthy Demo Rat, feigning concern for your community. Hiding behind your walled off yard with armed guards. Maybe Aunty Nancy will be next. Why don't all you politicians TRY living like your constituents for a while and bring yourselves back down to earth. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

  43. Culturally Responsive Education = Indoctrination of Victimology Politics
I was taking notes – Thanks Dinesh!
Can we put this in the title the next time you talk about this Laura – Nice work!

  44. de Blasio is the worst mayor in NYC history. He makes Lindsay and Dinkins look good. He is left-wing and even perhaps being a communist. This country is doomed due to these ultra-liberal politicians, that believe we need to apologize for what we are or are not unless we take back our country with our vote. Take it back for all Americans, black, brown, white, red or yellow regardless of religion or creed.

  45. Elijah Cummings. You reap what you sow. Stop funneling Federal (and State and city) money to your favored friends and neighbors and supporters. You are furthering the existing problems which have led to the ransacking of your home. An idle mind and hands and feet are the devil's workshop. Work with the President and other politicians to better the situation of the impoverished and not line the pockets of those who don't need the extra money.

  46. These practices will continue to create a class of people that will depend on the government to survive, and allow the democrats to stay in power. This is right out of the play book of creating socialist communist. Russian communist used the peasant class to help with their movement to communism during their revolution (1917). The democrats have been at this since the "Welfare State" was created during the civil rights movement of 1964 and started in 1965. It is much easier to rule a population when the majority is uneducated and poor. During the late 1960s Poland saw a movement to become a free democracy and leave communist rule. This was achieved when factory workers, and the intellectuals grouped together to fight the Polish Communist Party. Russian Communist in the Kremlin considered invading Poland to stop 'Solidarity' a independent self governing labor union that grew to 9 million people.
In every instance where a country was transitioned to a socialist communist country the poor/peasant class was used to enable this transition. Many intellectuals during the rise of Joseph Stalin were imprisoned or killed to eliminate any possible opposition to the ruling party. In fact, Russia improved their education system which increase the literacy rate among the Russian peasant class. In later years this caused a problem for Russian Communist leaders and was in part the reason for the collapse of communism in Russia.

  47. When we took God and discipline out of schools everything changed. You may not believe in God, but you cannot disagree that schools that are not teachings moral values are wrong. We need to go back and teach the golden rules. Treat others as you want to be treated. Show respect for each other. I have a daughter who teaches in an inner-city charter school and about half of the students are from Somalia. They and the other inner-city children fight constantly and the teachers have NO way to discipline them. Some of the students received 0% for the year. They never received 1 point on anything they turned in. And yet they moved them on to the next grade. What will happen to these children?

  48. Hey man! Cut down them damned trees 'cause, I can't see the forest. What? Well then, cut the damned forest down so's we can see them trees. What's wrong with ya? You and, youse's trick questions. Heh. Heh…..You, ain't so smart, are ya Ms. Angle? You, and yer fancy 'edgeumacation'. I, cuts my own lawn and I, don't needs no 'Lawn Degree'. That's silly.

  49. Our president didn't attack anybody he just stated the facts on Twitter rat infested crime-ridden corrupt politicians mayors that have been in jail for embezzlement more than once so if he points that out you will say he is attacking you

  50. PURE INSANITY!
Home school those kids. Or get together with other like minded Parents, say at your Church? And form a Cooperative School. State laws vary widely. So be sure your working under the protection of THE CONSTITUTION!

  51. Problem is a lot of these students need to be identified for special education and because they are generally low normative IQ's it is considered that nothing much more can be done for them in a class of 30 STUDENT to increase their proficiency. It is these policies that hurt students with low normative IQ levels. The problem, in reality, it does appear tied to race and everyone wants the narrative to be that we are all equally intelligent. And we are not. Low normative students across the board need much smaller classroom settings, with aids, and shorter lessons that scaffold their understanding throughout the day. We are all not the same and that is OK. But let's have productive citizens where we can squeeze out as much as we can in increasing their potential quality of life. This means we must ignore race and go for what is best for the student.
